Sketches
Veronica Portrait
I got a lot of great responses on Twitter about the recent sketch I did of Veronica Lane.
I used the same image to make a painting early in 2009 when I was learning how to paint with oils. I sketched it again the other day because I’m thinking of making it a t-shirt.
Please let me know if you’d be interested in the idea of a t-shirt or print of either image and I’ll make it happen.

Daily Sketches Are Back
I’ve taken a little break from painting. I was to start a new portrait painting class tomorrow night at the Studio Incamminati, a place I’ve wanted to study at for a few years, but the class was canceled. So I got a couple hundred bucks back on unused paints and canvases, but I’m not sure what my painting schedule is next.
Here’s today’s sketch. I’ll be painting this in dyes soon.

Also, I’m going to paint some beaches soon, too.
I am currently feeling a little all over the place, there’s at least four series of paintings fighting for first position in my head, so for now, a step back is necessary.
Sideshow Sketchy’s
Pictures from Friday night’s Dr. Sketchy’s Philly. Models this session were from the Olde City Sideshow. I won one of their t-shirts for a drawing I did with my left hand (I’m a righty). I don’t have that picture here, but I’ll post it soon. Just got my scanner working after a few months.

R.I.P. Batman
The other day, writer Grant Morrison killed Batman. While Batman is my favorite fictional character and I hope they bring him back later this year as I suspect, it was such an awesome death that I don’t even feel the least bit bummed. Here’s me ripping off the best Batman illustrator, Neil Adams:
Day 14: Study for Painting
My next project (aside from wrapping up a comic book I desperately need to complete) is to try to take my paintings to canvas.
I’m going to paint the same painting three times in three different ways.
1. Dyes on untreated canvas
2. Dyes on watercolor-treated canvas
3. Oils on primed canvas.
Day 13
Day 13 would’ve been something scary, but I didn’t realize it’s day 13 till now, after I’ve already drawn, scanned, and cropped the image. Instead, here’s the painting after my next painting.
No pics of Kendra available. Apparently
No Kendra Wilkinson this week. Here’s my fellow Syracuse alumn, Donovan McNabb. Image from photo courtesy of the new Philly.com.
