Sketches
Veronica Portrait
I got a lot of great responses on Twitter about the recent sketch I did of Veronica Lane.
I used the same image to make a painting early in 2009 when I was learning how to paint with oils. I sketched it again the other day because I’m thinking of making it a t-shirt.
Please let me know if you’d be interested in the idea of a t-shirt or print of either image and I’ll make it happen.

Dr. Sketchy’s Philly: Heroes vs. Villains
Here’s my sketches from last Friday’s Dr. Sketchy’s Philly. The theme was Heroes vs. Villains. It was my favorite @drsketchysphilly It should be yours, too. I mean, Dazzler? Awesome.
I added some close up details because I don’t usually get to see the lines that I’m drawing in such a hurry.
I’m only posting these here, so let me know what you think using the comments field.

Chuck Norris once ate a picture canvas, 12 tubes of paint, and 4 paint brushes and crapped out a perfect reproduction of the Mona Lisa.
Chuck Norris was a Twitter Trending Topic for a while yesterday.

Daily Sketch + painting series
Today’s sketch(es)

Also, I’m working on a series, here’s how far I’ve gotten.
I don’t shoot a series all at once, I actually shoot poses for several series with a model and then let the series come together over the years as I match the right model to the series. So, I’ve been working on this series for six years. I have all the rest of the paintings for this series on canvas, ready to be painted. I’d like to finish it this month.
This series has kind of been my main thesis, about portraying feminine strength and confidence. I’ll write more about how I got here when I’m complete, but for now, that’s a peak into how this works and the long term plan I started back on ’03 when Trish asked, “why don’t you try to get a gallery show?”
